 I am such a dork...It took me nearly as long to scan, stitch, and color-correct this piece than it did to paint it. Oh, how I hate stitching scans. But, now I have a 600dpi file, so prints are available if you're interested! The original is also for sale.  Since this version shrunk so much you can't see my signature anymore, I added a watermark. This is ink, acrylic, and watercolor on 14" x 17" hand-distressed acid-free paper. I uploaded another image, so you can see the details of the face: [link] |

I love using this paper. I'm too cheap to buy actual parchment, so I beat the crap out of regular paper on the floor of my studio. I take big ol' sheets of acid-free drawing paper, and put it through multiple watercolor washes, salt distressing, etc. to get it to look like this.
It makes a huge mess, but it's a great way to relieve stress.

the flower is beatifull and the little kity seems angry but great job!!
God bless you for making the flower ummm...innards (what are they called... pistil/stamen?) part of the design. They make the composition of the whole thing just WORK so beautifully. And as regards scan-stitching: I FEEL YOUR PAIN. *pats your head*
